The "Tsuchi" Collection

Toshiro I. is an artisan of tea leaves with 40 years of experience.
Despite the skeptics who said he couldn't grow and harvest tea leaves organically, he persevered and is now one of the pioneers of organically-grown tea leaves in Japan.

His passion is put into the study of earth and soil; the soil he chose is as soft as a cloud in the sky and as moist as a dewy petal, enabling the rich and clear sweetness of his tea leaves.

Such tea leaves he is proud of are named “Tsuchi”, which means “earth” and “soil” in Japanese.
This is a masterpiece only possible by combining the passion for co-existence with nature and his craftsmanship, and it reminds us of the mightiness and ephemerality of the Earth we are living on.

Tea type

Matcha

Matcha — a signature Japanese luxury tea — is made by grinding shade-grown tea leaves with a millstone.
It has a rich texture resulting from the direct consumption of tea leaves. Matcha is like the espresso of Japanese tea; extraction requires a different tea set and method from other tea types.
