The "Kirii" Collection
In the picturesque landscape of Kirishima, there is a tea garden on a mountain at 600–900 feet in height. Of this place, Tatsunari H. is the third owner.
At dawn, this tea garden is surrounded by mist. This mist is caused by the mild weather in this region and the rapid changes between warm and cold temperatures, and this is the key to the production of the one-of-a-kind tea leaves.
The “Kirii” Collection he is proud of is named after “Fog” and “Mist” in Japanese, and the tea leaf in this collection is sleek and features rich, deep umami.
The tea leaves he produces are awarded many prizes including Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award, which is the most famous award for Japanese tea leaves, and the grand prix of the Japanese Tea Contest in Paris.
His tea leaves, with the terroir of Kirishima and the passion and craftsmanship for tea manufacturing, are otherwise impossible.
Region
Kirishima - Kagoshima
Kirishima-cha is one of the most premium tea leaves made in Kagoshima, whose amount of harvest of tea leaves is one of the best in Japan.
The history is the longest among the tea leaves made in Kagoshima, and the taste, cultivated with morning dew on the leaves, features a well-established balance of great umami and sweetness.
As Kagoshima has been famous for organically growing tea leaves for a long time, they manufacture a lot of rare species, out of which you will discover something new.
Tea type
Gyokuro
Gyokuro — made through a unique cultivation method known as hifuku saibai (shade growing) — has a strong sweetness, umami, and a rich aroma.
It is considered to be the most exquisite type of Japanese tea. Thus, its rich flavor is ideal for extra relaxing experiences and accommodating special guests.
